Personally I feel bad for the guy. I mean, take away the magic and what do you got. An 11 year old boy, whose parents are dead. He has no idea what familial love was like until he met his best friend's family. Joined what was essentially a highly powerful court and had to contend with an evil cult leader from a rival faction, who tried to kill him since he was a baby. That said, the way he took it out on people was very offside.
